Olly Murs girlfriend: Is Olly Murs single? Latest relationship status

Olly Murs will be back in the famous red swivel chair this evening (Saturday, January 19) as a new set of aspiring singers hope to impress him, Sir Tom Jones, will.i.am and Jennifer Hudson. Murs joined the panel last year replacing Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale and 2019 marks his second series on The Voice UK. The ITV series airs weekly on ITV on Saturdays at 9pm.

Is Olly Murs single?

Olly Murs appears to be single after opening up about his love life last year and admitting he was trying to find the “right one”.

In an interview with The Sun from November 2018, the singer said that right now he was just “having fun with the wrong girls” before he met the right person.

Murs admitted: “I’m hoping with the next person I meet it’s instant and moves in the right direction and it feels amazing.

“That’s what I’d love. Whoever I meet it’s gonna be a moment of us both looking for that.”

He went on to joke that he wasn’t going to “chase it” and would let it happen organically “when it happens”.

The Troublemaker singer split from his girlfriend Francesca Thomas split four years ago in 2015.

He said that the end of the relationship was “partly my fault”, saying that he was a young pop star at the time.

Murs said that afterwards he was left “heartbroken” by the relationship breakdown and found out in 2017 that Thomas was engaged to someone else.

He revealed that he had some regrets at the time and that his “priorities were different” then to what they would be now if he was in a relationship.

In fact, Murs’ fifth studio album titled 24 Hrs was released in 2016 and was written in the wake of his painful break up with Thomas.

He said that he had wondered if he “could have been a better boyfriend” and it took him a long time to get over it.

However, he now appears to be moving forward with his life and focus on the future and meeting that special person.

Murs said that it was “very difficult” in the UK to meet someone for the right reasons but he hoped that he was good at “sussing people out”.

“You want someone that’s going to love you and be there for you through everything,” he said.

The pop star added: “And that’s definitely something I’ve missed a lot since I’ve been single – having someone around. You don’t appreciate it until it goes.”

He has described his current album You Know I know, which came out in 2018, as a “celebration” and he was hoping for a fifth consecutive number one record.

Things appear to be looking up for Murs with his new album and his coaching stint on The Voice UK.

He was even offered a position as a judge on The X Factor last year but ended up turning it down due to his commitments to The Voice.

The Voice airs on ITV tonight at 8pm
