Michelle Mone predicts ‘much better future’ for UK after Brexit – but ONLY after 5 years

Baroness Mone is a well-known figure in the business world, and is one of the highest paid business speakers in the UK. The entrepreneur, who is a speaker across the globe, is also a parliamentarian in the House of Lords. Lady Michelle, 47, received the peerage in August 2015, and was introduced to the house just months later. Having been involved in politics for some time, the designer and innovator has since shared her thoughts with Express.co.uk on Britain’s exit from the European Union.

At the time of the 2016 UK EU membership referendum, Lady Michelle hoped the decision would be to remain.

So, does she still feel the same way, and what are her thoughts on Brexit these days?

In an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk, Baroness Mone has spoken out about the topic.

And, while she may support the idea of remaining in the EU, she has now insisted that it’s time to accept the result of the referendum and “move forward”.

The entrepreneur, who recently launched her new lifestyle end business app, Connect 2 Michelle Mone, said: “I think when it comes to Brexit, we’ve just got to negotiate the best deal for our country and move forward: get on with business.”

And, while the vote on Brexit may not have swung the way she wanted, the businesswoman predicted Great Britain’s future to be “much better”.

Lady Michelle said: “I think Britain will be so much better in the future.”

However, she said she didn’t expect positive events to occur straight away, before likening the situation to a divorce.

“I do think it’s going to take about five to seven years to all settle down, but that’s only natural,” she said.

“If you think about a horrible divorce, that’s how long it takes to settle down. I think this is the same situation.

“But, I think in the long run, we will be much better off. I was a remainer because I didn’t want any more uncertainty in business etcetera, and the country.”

Accepting the outcome of the vote, the mother-of-three continued: “But the majority of the people have voted to exit [the EU] and we’ve got to get the best deal for the country and move forward – and stick together.”

So, how does she think the UK’s business world will fare following Brexit?

It seems Michelle is confident about what’s to come, telling Express.co.uk: “I think that the world is a big place out there, we can negotiate and do trade deals with China, America, and even with our European partners as well.

“So let’s be positive, let’s move on. Let’s get the deal done, because it is becoming boring for everyone.

“Let’s just close it and move on, and get on with business.”

Michelle Mone’s new business app, ‘Connect 2 Michelle Mone’, is available for free from the App Store.
