PS Plus UPDATE: Amazing PlayStation Plus free games news ahead of February reveal

Whether you’re a PlayStation Plus subscriber or not, Sony has got some fantastic PS Plus deals and freebies coming your way.

Ahead of the February 2019 free PS4 games reveal, Sony has announced a bonus freebie for existing members.

Anybody with an active PS Plus subscription and a PlayStation VR headset can take advantage of a free Firewall Zero Hour trial.

The PlayStation VR shooter will be available to play for free from January 18 until January 20.

“We can’t wait to welcome so many new PS VR players to the fray!” reads a Sony blog post.

“The Firewall Zero Hour: Weekend Trial Demo will include all the pulse-pounding modes of the full game (Single Player Training – Player vs. AI, Multiplayer Training – Co-op vs AI, and Multiplayer Contracts – PVP Players vs Players), as well as the entire roster of maps in the game, including the newly added map, Containment!”

As an added bonus, any progress made during the PS Plus trial will carry over to the full game.

If you’re not a PS Plus member and fancy giving it a try, Sony is also offering some heavy discounts on subscriptions.

Available to lapsed members only, Sony has knocked £5 off the 3-month PlayStation Plus subscription, which is down from £20 to £15.

Elsewhere, a 12-month PS Plus subscription has been reduced from £50 to £37.50. That’s a saving of 25%.

The offer is only available until January 24, so you’d better hurry if you want to grab a bargain

Anybody who takes advantage of the offer will be able to download the January 2019 PlayStation Plus free games.

Steep and Portal Knights headline the free PlayStation Plus games list for the month of January.

PS3 owners can download Zone of the Enders HD Collection and Amplitude, while Fallen Legion: Flames of Rebellion and Super Mutant Alien Assault are available on PlayStation Vita.

Due to cross-platform compatibility, Fallen Legion: Flames of Rebellion is also playable on PS4.
