Britain’s Got Talent: Dream team Ant and Dec in BGT return

The 43-year-old TV presenter has taken almost a year off, including missing the latest I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! series after he was convicted of drink-driving and went to rehab to face his demons. But today Ant and his sidekick will be behind the camera again, filming the new series of ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent. Good Morning Britain entertainment correspondent Richard Arnold told the ITV breakfast show yesterday: “After a year off, Ant will start filming on the new series of BGT.

“Can you believe it has come around again? How the time flies.

“They’re reuniting on Friday for the auditions of course, getting under way in London before the rest of the BGT continue their search for talent next month.” Good Morning Britain co-host Ben Shephard said Ant was “looking well” and fellow presenter Susanna Reid joked that he would still “clean up” at next week’s National Television Awards.

Ant and Dec aim to triumph in the award show’s best presenter category for the 18th consecutive year. A source close to the pair said they were looking forward to filming at London’s Palladium with judges Simon Cowell, David Walliams, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden. The source said: “Ant is happy to be going back to work and can’t wait to get started.

“He loves BGT and working with his best friend so he has been looking forward to this day coming.” The official confirmation came after Dec said last month: “It’s back to normal for BGT – fingers crossed, it will be great.”

This Morning presenter Holly Willoughby stood in for Ant in the I’m A Celebrity jungle, but described her stint as a “one-off, once in a lifetime adventure”.
