Watch bizarre tour of 'SPACE' hotel boasting 'REAL space food' and carnivorous plants

The hotel, in the Ukranian city of Alushta, has been decked out to look like a retro spaceship, and every facet of the experience mimics that – right down to the ‘protein pills’ that guests can take and the ‘real space food’ puree. The guesthouse is called ‘The Guardian of the Empire’ and is full of sliding metallic doors and steamy blue corridors – like a laser tag venue. One of the hotel staff proudly presents a cabinet of space food, saying: “This is real space food which we offer our guests.

“This is what astronauts take into space.

“You can heat it up and eat.

“It has an absolutely natural flavour and looks like puree.”

Guests stay in space cabins equipped with a mini-bar and TV.

Real science fiction fans can enjoy protein pills and try on helmets.

Another staff member explained to Ruptly: “This is an amazing facility. You can dive into an absolutely incredible atmosphere, forget about daily problems, get lots of nice and positive emotions.”

The complex offers virtual reality quests and “a space garden” full of “carnivorous plants.”

The hotel’s museum offers a display devoted to the history of space exploration featuring various items connected to real people and fictional characters, like Yuri Gagarin and Darth Vader.

There are also displays with meteors, soil samples from different planets, and spacesuits.

The cosmic hotel has no equals, according to the Crimean Ministry of Resorts and Tourism.
