Tom Watson weight loss: Labour MP lost seven stone follow this diet plan

Yesterday Tom Watson was praised for his speech in the commons after the Brexit vote that saw MPs reject Theresa May’s speech. However, it is not just his oration that has many impressed with the Labour MP. Tom Watson’s weight loss has wowed many. What weight loss diet did Tom follow to shed seven stone?

Tom, 52, has lost 86 pounds since last summer.

The deputy leader of the Labour Party followed a keto diet style plan.

He revealed he stopped eating sugar and refined sugar to overhaul his diet.

The MP also took up more exercise, in the form of walking and then cycling.

Tom told ITV: “I basically stopped taking sugar, refined sugar, and then I started walking 10,000 steps a day and walking up staircases and when a bit more weight came off I started to jog and cycle.”

“I kept reading about Labour politicians that died early in their 50s and 60s and I want to get healthy, and actually for me, the journey’s been very interesting because what I realise is there’s a lot more we can do in public health to deal with the obesity crisis.

“…We’ve got 10 million of these people heading to diabetes, another 15 million sitting behind them are overweight.”

Tom Watson drank bulletproof coffee in order to shed the weight, he has revealed.

What is bulletproof coffee?

The interesting drink is black coffee with grass-fed butter added to it.

Tom followed the Pioppi Diet, which is credited with helping him lose seven stone.

The diet involves eating a Mediterranean diet without any red meat.

There are also no starchy carbs allowed, so that’s pasta out, and no sugar.

It recommends a lot of fat, including coconut oil.

Bread is also not allowed on the plan, however, eggs and dairy are allowed.
