Harden broke a NBA record for the most games with 30 points or more in a row against the Grizzlies.
The forward has now tallied up at least 30 points in his last 17 games.
He broke Kobe Bryant’s previous record set in 2003.
Harden is currently locked in a head-to-head battle with Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo for the Most Valuable Player award having won the accolade last year.
And Sharpe seemed to hint that Harden should be the favourite, as he is proving his worth to the Houston Rockets more than his competitors are.

“It’s unbelievable what this guy can do,” he said.
“What is making what he is doing more unbelievable is if you go to any player in the NBA and take away their next three best players, that’s what he’s doing.
“He’s playing without [Clint] Capela, he’s playing without CP3 [Chris Paul], he’s playing without Eric Gordon.
“If you say Russell Westbrook is the best player in the NBA, take Paul George, Steve Adams and Jeremi Grant away.
“If you like KD [Kevin Durant], take Steph Curry, Klay [Thompson] and Draymond Green away.
“That’s what is making him so unbelievable.
“I don’t know if I’ve seen anything like this.”
Harden is plagued with controversy, however, as his game is said by many to be too over-reliant on drawing fouls and going for free-throws.
Earlier in the season, the Los Angeles Lakers defended with their hands behind their backs due to the fouls called on Harden.
This season, he has thrown 452 free-throws. He has topped the free-throws attempted rankings in the NBA every year since 2014.
“They’re calling everything, it’s ridiculous how easy he gets to the free-throw line,” Sharpe continued.
“‘Oh, you looked at James? Foul. James, go shoot two free-throws.’
“I would bet that he is shooting more free-throws than some teams.”
