The game is officially offline from 10am UK time, but fans have already reported not being able to login to online multiplayer.

“Deploy your Gliders!” reads an Epic tweet. “Patch v7.20 releases tomorrow, January 15. Downtime begins at 5 AM ET(1000 GMT).”

There’s no word on when Fortnite will be back online, but as this is a big update, it’s likely to be offline until midday.

According to the early update 7.20 patch notes, the new update re-introduces the Glider Redeploy, only this time as a consumable item.

There’s also a brand new weapon in the form of the Scoped Revolver.

While the stats are yet to be revealed, the Scoped Revolver is a six-shot pistol that can be used at range.

“Six-shot pistol packs a punch and provides perfect accuracy at range,” reads the in-game teaser.

Needless to say, the upcoming update will also make some pretty major gameplay fixes, while Save the World will be given away for free to select Xbox One owners.

Save the World will be free to anybody who purchased the Fortnite Xbox One S bundle.

Epic’s Sean Hamilton has given fans a sneak peek of the patch notes, which will have a strong focus on sensitivity options. Check out the early 7.20 update patch notes below…

• Building sensitivity change also applies to edit mode

• Separate targeting, scope, and gamepad building sensitivity settings are now shared between StW and BR

• Sensitivity settings allow for more granular adjustments
