Dancing On Ice 2019: Fans SLAM judges for ‘over-marking’ contestants

Dancing On Ice 2019 saw the second set of contestants perform on the ice this evening.

And while last week’s edition of the show saw the likes of James Jordan storming the ice, this week had a similar stand-out.

This weekend saw the arrival of former Pussycat Doll Melody Thornton on the ice before she blew the judges away.

Her incredible talents allowed her to set herself firmly in Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean’s sights.

However Jason Gardiner wasn’t happy with her performance, and awarded her a 3.5 out of ten.

Later on in the show, however, Saira Khan also performed with her partner.

While Saira had improved a lot throughout her journey, she stumbled a few times during her routine, and spent a lot of the routine being lead around.

Despite these issues Saira received four points from Jason, which enraged many viewers.

They even began hitting out on Twitter, with one writing: “Saira did really well considering she couldn’t dance but maybe a tad over marked by Jason based on what he’s given others #DancingOnIce.”

Another wrote: “Four from Jason? Yet others much better have got lower? What the hell is going on this this scoring, all over the place #dancingonice.”

A third said: “I’m sorry but how can Jason score Saira more than most people? Not impressed #DancingOnIce.”

Another asked: “So Melody gets a three from Jason and she was AMAZING, Saira got a four from Jason and she was AWFUL, wtf @officialJasonG ??? Really?! #DancingOnIce #DOI.”

The viewers weren’t the only people angry with Jason’s comments as Ashley Banjo hit back at his fellow judge shortly after Melody’s performance.

Ashley gave Melody a deserved six points, while Jason gave her a 3.5.

And this sparked a reaction from the Diversity captain, who said: “Jason! I think that is so harsh, to be honest.

“I think that is beautiful, the connection, the storytelling.

“It was so aesthetically pleasing. It’s easy to forget it’s week one for you.”

Jason simply didn’t agree however, and left the disagreement up in the air.

But how will the two pairs survive in next week’s show?

Dancing On Ice continues Sunday at 6pm on ITV.
