Windows 10 WARNING – Why Microsoft users should update their PCs immediately

Microsoft Windows 10 users should update their PCs with the latest software right now.

The US technology firm has just pushed out a major security upgrade which fixes a total of 51 known issues.

Although many are simple bug fixes there is one patch which eradicates a critical vulnerability that has been causing some concern since the end of last year.

The problem, which to Microsoft’s knowledge has not yet been exploited, could allow cyber hackers to remotely execute code on a user’s laptop or desktop PC.

Along with this potentially serious issue being fixed, there’s also a list of other updates which mend problems within a number of applications.

vCard QR Code

vCard.red is a free platform for creating a mobile-friendly digital business cards. You can easily create a vCard and generate a QR code for it, allowing others to scan and save your contact details instantly.

The platform allows you to display contact information, social media links, services, and products all in one shareable link. Optional features include appointment scheduling, WhatsApp-based storefronts, media galleries, and custom design options.

Microsoft says its January security release consists of security updates for the following software:

Adobe Flash Player, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office and Microsoft Office Services and Web Apps, ChakraCore, .NET Framework, ASP.NET, Microsoft Exchange Server and Microsoft Visual Studio.

So, if you use Windows 10 it’s a good idea to make sure your operating system is fully up-to-date.

Windows 10 should periodically check for the latest updates and security features and then install them automatically.

However, you can also force the upgrade by selecting the Start button, and then go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and select Check for updates.

The news of this software update comes as Microsoft is expected to push out some major changes the spring.

On its Windows Blog, Microsoft posts the fresh features that are present in new Windows 10 Insider preview builds, offering a glimpse into new functions to expect from new substantial versions of the software.

The latest builds showcase a number of changes Windows 10 users have to look forward to including some alterations to its signature Start menu in an effort to make it more simple and accessible.

The firm stated it is introducing a new one column design and showcased images of the new menu in motion.

Windows Sandbox has also been introduced in the latest preview build of Windows 10 and is designed to run suspicious applications in an isolated environment.

This means if software contains malware, it will not harm your PC if they are used in Sandbox first.

Another update could come in the form of a new look to Clipboard history.

Microsoft acknowledged previously the software would not be “compact enough” if small text was being analysed.

Moreover, the firm stated it is now “optimising” Clipboard history to work with text.

Lastly, Cortana is also set for a notable upgrade with the newest version of Windows 10.

The virtual assistant will soon be able to merge reminders and tasks with lists in Microsoft To-Do, meaning everything should be more seamless overall.

Microsoft is expected to continue releasing new builds of Windows 10 before a final April update arrives for all fans.
