Tom Jones is a stalwart of British pop culture spanning over six decades. The 78-year-old Welshman rose to fame as the frontman for Tommy Scott and the Senators, before making a name for himself as a solo artist. The Sex Bomb singer was awarded an OBE in 1999 and in 2006 was knighted the by Queen for services to music.

Despite his age and a recent health scare, Sir Tom is showing no signs of slowing down with a new tour on the books as well as his stint on The Voice.

Starting in April, the star will head stateside first before taking to European stages in June.

The crooner recently took to Twitter to unveil his various European tour dates including Transylvania in Romania.

The tour will be the first time the star has ever performed in the region.

Sir Tom told his 576,000 Twitter followers: “Very happy to be able to announce further shows to my European tour, including a few places I have never played before!

“Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria and Hungary I will see you next June!”

Fans flocked to his social media account as one fan wrote: “I’m sure they’ll be sold out concerts.

Another person replied: “Great news. Amazing. Good luck on your great success on your European tour.”

While another fan seemed to be concerned with Tom’s health as they wrote: “Sir Tom, please don’t overdo it. As much as we all love to see you, think of yourself too.”

This comes after the singer was forced to cancel five shows in July due to ill health.

The artist was battling a bacterial infection and updates were announced on his Twitter page which stated he had been treated in hospital.

Speaking to The Mirror following his hospitalisation in the summer, Sir Tom revealed he was “feeling weak” whilst on tour.

He told the publication: “I wasn’t feeling so good and they said, ‘You had better get yourself checked, your blood and everything.’”

“I just didn’t feel good and they said you need antibiotics. So they gave it intravenously and that was it.”
