Galaxy S9 and Galaxy Note 9 are Samsung’s two most premium handsets that are both incredibly capable.
Galaxy S9 released at the start of last year and has remained one of the most capable Android devices around.
That is because the hardware comes with numerous features that make it compelling.
Galaxy S9 and S9+ come with some of the best displays around; the former offers a 5.8-inch panel while the latter delivers a 6.2-inch screen.
The flagship duo are powered by the same Samsung Exynos 9810 chip or Snapdragon 845 depending on the region they are sold in.
And the two also come with the same 12-megapixel main rear camera sensor that has a variable aperture that can open or close depending on lighting conditions.
The Galaxy Note 9 is the newest flagship from the firm and touts a gargantuan 6.4-inch display.
Note 9 is powered by the same processor as the S9 and S9+ and features similar camera technology, too.
Both handsets launched running Android 8 Oreo but are set for an upgrade to Samsung’s new One UI software skin that will run on top of Android 9 Pie.
Samsung recently announced the Galaxy S9 and S9+ will receive the upgrade in question this month.
Since then, some users have reported their devices have already started receiving the new software.
The Galaxy Note 9 is scheduled to receive the revamped operating system next month, however owners of the flagship phablet have also insisted they have already been granted it.
One UI brings a number of new changes for Samsung fans to look forward to including new app designs and icons, a dark mode and all the benefits of Google’s new operating system.
However, it appears the new skin will also fix an annoyance surrounding Samsung’s “do not disturb” mode.
SamMobile has insisted when running the new software, the mode presents users with an option that allows them to mute all media when it is activated.
Such a function means if video or other content is played while “do not disturb” is toggled, no noise will be played.
The new feature means users no longer need to adjust media volume manually.
Previously if “do not disturb” was enabled, sound would still be played from smartphones and was surely irritating for many looking for peace and quiet.
One UI will arrive for all Galaxy S9 owners this month and Galaxy Note 9 fans in February.
