John Wick 3 Parabellum: NEW plot details teased for Keanu Reeves sequel

The plot of John Wick 3 reads: “John Wick is still on the run following his assassination of a member of the High Table in The Continental with a $14million global contract on him. Banned from every Continental service, John’s objective is to fight his way out of New York City.” John Wick 3 Parabellum promises to have a higher body count than the previous movies.

What are the new plot details leaked?

The John Wick director Chad Stahelski told USA Today: “I’m a big fan of Joseph Campbell’s mythologies of the hero and what he would have defined as the theatre of pain, or sometimes we call it The Die Hard Conundrum.

“We just to like to beat the stuffing out of our heroes.

“If you choose that kind of lifestyle, you’re going to be pretty beat up.

“So we like John Wick to suffer and think Keanu loves for John Wick to suffer, too.”

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Stahelski said: “Whereas John’s puppy was symbolic of his wife, Halle’s two dogs are symbolic of someone she’s lost.

Chad Stahelski also revealed an action sequence had been developed around her “canine assistants…. They work very well tactically.”

During an interview with Coming Soon, Reeves explained the meaning behind the movie’s title: Parabellum.

Reeves explained the title means “prepare for war”.

He said: “It’s part of that famous sentence, ‘Si vis pacem, para bellum,’ which translates as, ‘If you want peace, prepare for war.'”

John Wick and its sequel have been a return to the classic action movie – under two hours, succinct, action-packed, and only one main character to get behind.

Reeves’ John Wick movies have been lauded for their clearly shot action scenes and unique world.

A network of hitmen and women living lavish lifestyles and subverting the law, plus Reeves’ effortless cool, have made the franchise beloved by many.

At the end of John Wick: Chapter 2, Winston (Ian McShane) the owner of The Continental Hotel – where all hitmen can go for a relaxed night of safety and a truce – sends for John and explains that, per the High Table, the contract on John has been doubled and offered globally.

This comes as a consequence of Wick killing Santino (Riccardo Scamarcio) on Continental grounds.

Winston declares John “excommunicado” from the Continental, losing all access and privileges to the Continental’s underworld resources.

Winston, in an act of charity, delays announcing John’s excommunication and the subsequent bounty on his head by an hour.

John tells Winston to make it known to all who are after him, whoever tries to make good on the bounty will be killed.

The final scene shows John and his dog running through Central Park as dozens of cellphones around him start to ring, signalling the global bounty has started.

Joining Reeves in John Wick 3: Parabellum’s absolutely stacked cast are Halle Berry, Ian McShane, Ruby Rose, Common, Laurence Fishburn, Anjelica Huston, Mark Dacascos and Jason Mantzoukas.

John Wick 3 Parabellum is out in cinemas on May 17, 2019.
