AJ Pritchard: Strictly star makes shock admission before heading on tour

AJ Pritchard, 24, and his brother Curtis Pritchard, 22, suffered injuries after they were attacked on a night out in Nantwich, Cheshire on December 27. The Strictly Come Dancing 2018 professional has since revealed he is doing well following the incident but his co-star hinted he is “colourblind” in a short video clip. Strictly professional dancer Dianne Buswell, 29, took to Instagram to upload a clip of the co-stars in training. She said: “Guess who I’m here with.”

Before moving the camera from herself to a fresh-faced AJ who beamed at the camera.

AJ replied: “How’s it going red?”

Dianne said: “We’re both redoes today,”(sic) pointing to her hair and AJ who was sporting a red t-shirt.

AJ then added: “For once I can actually say your hair is redder today.”

To which the red-haired dancer replied: “Thank you. It does. He says every single week Dianne your hair looks redder and actually this time it actually is redder.

She then queried: “Does everyone know he is actually colourblind?”

“True facts, AJ is colourblind,” however, he quiickly jibed back “That’s why I see red.”

The Strictly dancer then told fans, AJ is “ok” to which he agreed.

AJ added: “I’m good. Bruises are gone. Thank God – it gave me some character.”

Dianne interjected: “Look at that face. Beautiful. Perfect. Bruising is gone. He looks better than ever.”

Meanwhile is recently revealed the dancer had hired a bodyguard following the attack.

A source told The Sun: “AJ has hired a bodyguard to protect him over the coming weeks.

“He has been left traumatised by the assault, and while his confidence is growing he feels really nervous about the idea of going out in public.”

They continued: “He’s worried about a possible revenge attack and wanted to have someone with him for the next month or so to help make him feel safe again.”

AJ will be dancing on the tour with celebrity partner Lauren Steadman when it kicks off in Birmingham later this month.

As well as the Strictly Come Dancing Live! tour, AJ is also due to star in his first solo tour Get On The Floor Live in March.

The dancer is still expected to be performing in the show, despite the attack.
