Avengers Endgame: Kevin Feige hints at trailer bombshell amid ‘many, many, many secrets’

Kevin Feige spoke out at the Golden Globes last night about the upcoming release, which is poised to be one of the biggest box office hits of 2019. The trailer came out early last month and showed us our first glimpse of the various Marvel heroes in the aftermath of Thanos wiping out half of all living things with the Infinity Stones. But, as expected, the exact plot points remain a big mystery.

Fans have speculated that none of the marketing – including that trailer – will reveal anything that happens past the 15-minute mark in the movie’s run-time.

And at the Golden Globes, Feige told MTV if that is indeed the case.

“I’d call [that] somewhat accurate,” he said.

“I think, as was the case with a lot of our films, this one in particular, being able to generate excitement without giving away any of the many, many, many, many secrets – many, many, many secrets! – would be ideal.

“And I think the Disney marketing team is the best in the world and I think we can pull it off.”

Feige also claimed that the Avengers: Endgame title was in place before filming even began – a claim that’s at odds with previous suggestions that the title was up in the air until seconds before the trailer’s release (and a leak that claimed it was Annihilation).

“It was in place before we started developing the movie, or just as we were developing it,” he explained.

“Doctor Strange says that line [in Infinity War] because we knew that was the title.”

Avengers Endgame is expected to return Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye to the fold, and indeed the trailer confirmed this is the case.

Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel is also due to show up, following her 1990s-set solo movie, out in March.

Also on Marvel’s slate this year is Spider-Man: Far From Home, out this summer.

Avengers 4 is out on April 26.
