Gemma Collins weight loss: How the Dancing on Ice star shed TWO dress sizes

Gemma Collins has lost two stone – and two dress sizes – since joining ITV reality TV show Dancing On Ice and is looking healthier than ever. Training for the show began in the autumn and Gemma’s clearly been giving it her all, and it shows with her svelte waist and healthy-looking body. But it’s not always been an easy road to weight loss success for the fun-loving blonde. The Only Way Is Essex star’s weight has fluctuated over the years and she’s openly shared her journey with her fans. In 2011 Gemma lost a whopping three stone thanks to a strict regime of exercise and dieting at a bootcamp. Then, in 2015 Gemma went to a famous ‘juice camp’ in Portugal in a bid to shed weight.

Following a diet of just juice for a month, and combining that with increased exercise, saw the reality star lose weight once again.

In fact, in total Gemma lost three stone from the strict regime during her time at the camp.

That same year Gemma revealed on This Morning she had given hypnotherapy a go to try and shed the pounds.

“I’ve done every diet out there, “she said. “There’s nothing I haven’t done.

“I was obsessed with food. And life revolved around food and eating. There was no brain space in my head for me not to think about food, it was a living nightmare.”

In 2017 Gemma spoke of her struggle to keep the weight off following successful diets.

However, the Dancing On Ice star said she wouldn’t be willing to consider gastric band surgery in order to slim down.

“I’m not saying I’ll get to a size 10 but I do need to lose weight,” Gemma told The Sun in 2017. “For my health I wouldn’t want to be bigger than I am now.

“I refuse to have a gastric band as easy as it would be. I have overcome so many things in my life and I will overcome my weight – but I need time and focus to do it.”

Gemma claimed she has always had a “big butt” but she now compares her behind to Beyonce’s following her ice skating escapades.

“I’ve always had a big butt but now I’ve deffo got a Beyoncé butt,” the star said on Lorraine.

“I feel a lot more confident and definitely feel fitter and I’m thoroughly enjoying it.”

Gemma has been partnered with Matt Evans on Dancing on Ice and says she wanted their first routine to end in the splits.

Dancing on Ice fans can also tune in to see the following contestants this week: Grease actress Didi Conn, ex-Strictly pro James Jordan, Corrie actress Jane Danson, Neighbours’ Mark Little and Eurovision singer Saaro Aalto.

Brian McFadden of Westlife, Pussycat Doll Melody Thornton, EastEnders’ Richard Blackwood, retired cricketer Ryan Sidebottom, Loose Women host Saira Khan and Love Islander Wes Nelson are the remaining members of the Dancing on Ice 2019 cast who will take to the ice next week.

ITV has provided a shake-up to the format for the 2019 series, as only half of the celebrity contestants will perform on the first episode
