Transfer news LIVE updates: Fekir to Liverpool development, Chelsea done deal, Man Utd

Pulisic to Chelsea revelation

Chelsea considered moves for both Nabil Fekir and Ousmane Dembele before they opted to sign Christian Pulisic, while Richarlison was also another surprise alternative, Goal claim.

The Blues have secured a £57.5million deal with Borussia Dortmund to sign Pulisic this month, though they will loan the American international back to the Bundesliga club until the end of the season.

And Goal say Fekir was scouted by Chelsea as they look to spruce up their attack, while Barcelona’s Dembele was viewed as another option.

The versatile Richarlison was another option and the Brazilian has been a key performer for Everton this season.

Christian Pulisic to Chelsea done

Christian Pulisic has joined Chelsea – but will return to Borussia Dortmund on loan until the summer.

“In summer I move on to Chelsea and to a new competition, the English Premier League,” the USA international said.

“It’s a privilege to have signed for such a legendary club and I look forward to working hard towards being a contributor to their team of world class players.’

Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia added: ‘We are delighted to have signed one of Europe’s most sought-after young players. Christian has shown his quality during a fantastic spell in Germany and at just 20, we believe he has the potential to become an important Chelsea player for many years to come.”

Fekir to Liverpool development

Nabil Fekir is the shortest price he’s ever been to join Liverpool this month following Chelsea’s signing of Christian Pulisic.

Fekir nearly joined Liverpool in the summer only for the deal to fall through after they tried to restructure payments late on.

And Chelsea have been linked this season with Eden Hazard’s future uncertain.

But, following the announcement Pullisic will join Chelsea in the summer, bookmakers Betfair have priced Liverpool at 2/1 favourites to sign Fekir before the end of the January window.

A Betfair insider told Express Sport: “So straight from the traders’ mouths. Yes this is the shortest he has been. Price has continued to shorten from 5/1 over yesterday and today.”

Aaron Ramsey to Juventus

Juventus director Fabio Paratici has admitted the club are interested in signing Aaron Ramsey.

He said: “Yes, we are interested in Aaron Ramsey, he’s a great midfielder. But at the moment he’s an Arsenal player, we’ll see… “

Ramsey is out of contract in the summer and expected to move on for free then.

Arsenal are keen to sell him this month but are asking for £40m.
