Pokemon Go: How to catch Lugia and Ho-Oh? Latest update increases spawn chances

Lugia and Ho-Oh appeared in Pokemon Go for one weekend only earlier this month. But those players who missed-out are in luck as Lugia and Ho-Oh can now be caught again in Pokemon Go as rewards in the January Research Quests. Pokemon Go Lugia and Ho-Oh have now been added to the pool of Legendary Pokemon be available to encounter from conducting Research in Pokemon Go.

The pair of pocket monsters will join the already-impressive pool of potential Legendary encounters, including the Legendary Bird Trio—Moltres, Zapdos, and Articuno—as well as the Legendary Dog Trio—Raikou, Suicune, and Entei.

What is more, Lugia, Ho-Oh and the Legendary Birds have a chance to be shiny.

However, it is not yet known how likely players are to encounter Lugia and Ho-Oh in comparison to the other Pokemon in the pool.

Pokemon Go developer Niantic does usually increases the encounter odds for the most recent additions, although this is yet to be confirmed.
