Fallout 76 servers DOWN: PS4 and Xbox One game offline ahead of nukes patch release

Fallout 76 servers are down with Bethesda taking the PS4, Xbox One and PC online RPG offline ahead of the rollout of a fix.

The Bethesda Support Twitter has confirmed that Fallout 76 servers are going down at 2.30pm EST, which is 7.30pm UK time.

Fallout 76 is being taken down ahead of the rollout of a fix for the nukes bug that emerged on New Year’s Day.

The Bethesda Support Twitter posted: “We’re planning to bring #Fallout76 offline at 2:30 p.m. EST today for a hotfix to correct the issue with the nuke silos.

The Fallout 76 patch is being rolled out after on New Year’s Day players discovered that nukes had been disabled.

Fans of the PS4, Xbox One and PC game reported that nuclear missile codes in Fallout 76 were no longer working and new codes were unavailable.

According to players, the nukes in Fallout 76 were working fine until December 31 – but on January 1 that all changed.

In a thread on Reddit about the issue one Fallout 76 fan wrote: “Y2K bug just hit the Nuke Code Date Generator.

“At least one system is affected finally.”

While another posted: “Figures I finally got around to doing the actually sorry quests and planned on dropping my first nuke today.”

And one added: “Good to know I’m not the only one. I thought my game was broke.”

In other Fallout 76 news, Bethesda recently revealed that they had a “big update” in the works with patch notes to follow soon.

Bethesda in a post online said: “Later this month, we are providing resolutions by way of new patches for Fallout 76.

“Like our December 11 update, we will have a big update that will address many of the issues you’ve been providing feedback on. Full patch notes will follow soon.

“We’re also building an incredible list of future updates that we can’t wait to share, including new quests, weekly in-game events, new Vaults opening, a new PvP mode, Player Vending and much more.

“2019 is an exciting year for Fallout 76 and we can’t wait to grow it with you. Keep providing your feedback and letting us know what you’d like to see.

“Happy New Year from all of us!”
