Jane Danson: Coronation Street star reveals she’s getting EXTRA help on Dancing On Ice

Coronation Street star Jane Danson, 40, revealed she has been taking tips from her Dancing On Ice partner’s wife Samia, 36, who competed on the show in 2013. Jane discussed her feelings about being paired with her co-star’s husband and admitted Samia had been in training with them to show her some moves. Jane told press including Express.co.uk: “It’s been really interesting as we’re friends but Samia is my best friend who I’ve known longer, so I’ve got to know Sylvain in a different way. He hasn’t gone easy on me because we’re friends.

“He’s a perfectionist and I love watching him dance; he’s really graceful.

“We’ve had a laugh along the way and it’s great for Samia too, as we’re so close so her vote won’t be split between Sylvain and me now!

“She’s actually come down to training a few times and has shown me how to do certain moves.

“Its hard to visualise how a lift goes, so it’s been really helpful seeing her do it.”

Amid training for the first show this weekend, Jane admitted training in rehearsals had left her feeling dizzy.

She told Express.co.uk: “I’ve got a lot of bruises.

“It’s a lot more physical than you imagine, but also I get quite dizzy and you have to go into like an eight-step.

“I’m like, ‘Ah, the room’s still spinning.’ It’s learning to kind of cope with that which I never really accounted for.”

The Leanne Battersby star added she had been finding the process “difficult” due to not being a “trained dancer”, like some other contestants.

Back in 2013, Samia and Sylvain became the eight pair to be voted off of the show.

Two years later they had their first child together, a son named Yves Joseph.

In 2016, they tied the knot in an intimate wedding ceremony in August.

This year, Leanne will face competition from the likes of former Strictly Come Dancing pro James Jordan and Grease star Didi Conn.

Coronation Street continues tonight at 8pm on ITV.

Dancing On Ice 2019 begins on ITV on January 6, 2019 at 6pm.
