Jane Danson, who plays Leanne Battersby in Coronation Street, found out she had lost her third child during a three-month scan. The actress spoke candidly about her difficult time “a few years ago” during an interview with this week’s OK! Magazine. The 40-year-old and her husband Robert Beck addressed whether more children were on the horizon after walking down the aisle in 2005. They are parents to Harry, 12, and nine-year-old Sam, with the soap star saying they were “so grateful” for their family.
When asked if they’d like more children, Jane commented: “Sadly we lost our third child a few years ago – I found out I’d miscarried at the three-month scan.
“It was heartbreaking and it took us a long time to get over it – I don’t think you ever do.”
The Weatherfield regular continued: “There will always be that sadness there and there’ll always be that desire, but we’re getting older now and the boys are growing up.
“Sometimes you just have to appreciate what you have. I was very sad for a long time but now I’m at a place where I think it wasn’t meant to be.”

Jane, who first appeared in Corrie back in 1997, also said: “I’m so grateful to have two beautiful boys who are our everything.”
Meanwhile, during their chat, she addressed her upcoming turn on Dancing On Ice, where she will compete against the likes of James Jordan, Grease legend Didi Conn and Gemma Collins.
On whether her sons will be watching her perform, Rob stated: “We’ll be there for the first one and, depending on how Jane does, I’ll be down every weekend.
“But as it’s on a Sunday night it’s hard for the boys as they have school the next day.”
Jane added: “The boys are quite cool about the show at the moment. Harry said, ‘Just don’t get voted out first, Mum, as that would be really embarrassing!’”
Meanwhile, she is currently in the middle of the table when it comes to odds on who will win Dancing On Ice 2018.
Ladbrokes are offering 8/1 that she will triumph, the same as Brian McFadden in joint fifth place.
Love Island’s Wes Nelson is the clear favourite to win with 2/1, in front of dancer James and Melody Thornton on 5/1.
They are followed by Richard Blackwood (6/1), while Mark Little remains the least likely (33/1).
A spokesperson told Express.co.uk: “Wes is by far the most popular celebrity taking part so it’s no huge surprise to see his odds as short as they are.
“James ought to be able to transfer his skills from the ballroom to the ice, but as a controversial character punters may find it hard to pick up the phone for him.”
