The keto diet is also known as the ketogenic diet and has been shown by various studies to be an effective way to lose weight. The keto diet aims to put the body into a state of ketosis.

This is an alternative digestive state where the body burns fat for energy, instead of sugars.

To achieve this dieters must avoid many forms of sugar to encourage the body into ketosis.

The keto diet plan is a little like the low-carb Atkins diet. states: “A keto diet is a very strict low-carb diet, containing less than 20 grams of net carbs per day, and thus it tends to be highly effective.”
