
The blast occurred on Wednesday night at Carmel High school in Hamilton County, in the US state of Indiana. The city’s fire department confirmed one of the victims suffered severe burns. The condition of the second victim has not yet been reported.
Officials confirmed children who were inside the school at the time of the blast were sent to stadium locker rooms.
The Carmel Fire Department has not identified the source of the explosion, but they believe it originated in a mechanical room.
Public information officer Tim Griffin confirmed no students were injured.

A spokeswoman for Carmel Clay Schools Courtney Taylor said in a statement that a maintenance employee and a contractor had been injured.
Mrs Taylor said: “We are thankful for our first responders and please keep the two men injured in your thoughts and prayers.”
Medics transported the two victims to Eskenazi Hospital for treatment of burns.
Their conditions are not immediately known.
Mrs Taylor added that all activities at the school have been cancelled until further notice.
Shortly before 7pm local time (12.00am GMT) the fire department wrote on Twitter that crews had “marked the fire under control.”
The roof and maintenance room were reportedly damaged in the blast.
