NBA latest news

All eyes are certain to be on Warriors vs Lakers today as Curry and James go head-to-head and Los Angeles coach Luke Walton has called on his star man to rack up more points or help his side win by other means.

James posted just 22 points as the Lakers fell to a 107-99 defeat to Memphis Grizzlies last week.

The small forward was unable to convert a number of efforts which left his team wanting but Walton acknowledges what he brings to the team.

“It makes it more challenging but we have done it this season before,” Walton said.

“He has always had off shooting nights but he does so many other things on the court that we find a way to win or someone else steps up and then he’ll make a big play down the stretch.

“I thought (against the Grizzlies) for some reason he let the fact he was missing shots affect his overall energy in the second half.

“He is too good of a player and too important to us to let that happen.

“People are always going to have off shooting nights but you have to find other ways to help your team win.

“Normally he is really good with that but we can still win if he is not making shots.”
