Another added: “LeBron James, the most durable athlete in the history of sports, getting hurt while up 14 on the Warriors is the most Golden State thing ever #NBAChristmas.”
And a third explained: “He gonna be out a few games with that groin injury.”
Despite Lebron leaving and heading back to the dressing room the Lakers led 91-82 at the end of the third quarter.
James has been in fine form this season after moving from the Cleveland Cavaliers.
But the Warriors went into the match second in the Western Conference, two places above their opponents.
Going into the final quarter it was still not confirmed whether LeBron would return to action or not.
Courtside Steve Kerr played down the LeBron factor though and wanted the Warriors to put pressure on the Lakers in the final 12 minutes.
LeBron’s exit stunned the Lakers and they lost a dominant lead as Kevin Durant and co cut it to two.
But Luke Walton’s side were able to get back on top and make sure they had a nine point advantage going into the final quarter.
