At least five people have been killed in the Christmas Day attack in coastal area of Longan, Fujian province, south of Shanghai. Another 21 are understood to have been injured, although numbers may rise still. The attacker tried to take control of the bus at about 3.20pm local time, before stabbing a number of passengers on the public bus, according to Beijing News newspaper. Video footage taken by a witness shows a number of police wrestling the attacker to the ground in the middle of a road.
