AJ Pritchard: Lauren Steadman surprised in flirty exchange with Strictly pro – WATCH

The 24-year-old British-born dancer filmed sneak peeks behind-the-scenes at the Strictly Come Dancing final earlier this month, sharing them with his fans via his YouTube channel. AJ Pritchard could be seen preparing in Elstree and rehearsing the big group routine which saw the whole 2018 cast reunite for one last dance. Having been eliminated the week before in the semi-finals, he and his celebrity partner Lauren Steadman, 25, were back together for another outing on the dance floor. Having run through the dance ahead of the live show, he filmed their reactions.

Sounding out of breath, he told the camera: “Lauren stood quite high…”

Pushing his hair back from his face, AJ insisted: “It’s fine, it’s fine… just meant that I had to use my muscles this time.”

“Muscles, AJ?” the Paralympian teased her professional partner.

“They’re still there!” he quipped, as she covered her mouth in mock shock.

The Strictly Come Dancing pro, who joined the cast back in 2016, previously sparked speculation the pair could be more than friends when he spoke out about how they grown “close” in training.

“I am very protective of Lauren because we have worked so close together,” he told The Mirror. “There are different things that she will talk about in training that she would never talk about on camera.

“It’s for that reason that we have grown so close together and we will be friends for life and who knows in the future…” he tailed off.

“You never know what is going to happen.”

He recently revealed what he “loves most” about Lauren on The Telegraph’s Talking Strictly podcast as he spoke out about choreographing routines for the Paratriathlete, who was born without the lower part of he right arm.

“The fantastic thing with Lauren is that she is so determined,” he said. “I’d usually grab her hand and obviously the hand’s not there, so it gives me a bit of a headache, but we just find ways to adapt it.

“The thing is, if I come in with a routine that is designed for normal hold and it doesn’t work, we’ll change it.”

“I hate the idea of not being able to do something,” Lauren added. “So, even if it didn’t go well at the beginning of the week, it’s staying in and we will get it by Saturday.”

“That’s what I love most about you,” AJ praised his partner.

Strictly fans haven’t had to wait long for another dose of the BBC series, with the Christmas special set to air later this afternoon.

Fan favourites including Ann Widdecombe, 71, Aston merry gold, 30, and Jake Wood, 46, will all be donning their dancing shoes once more as they return to screens in the festive instalment.

The Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special airs today at 5.30pm on BBC One.
