LG Optimus 3D phone is full of 3D goodness – you get a full 3D display, 3D screen, 3D camera and even 3D gaming. Now, here is a funny thing – 3D has hardly taken off in a big way and this Korean giant is busily engrossed in cramming this technology into every piece of hardware they can get.
The best part about this phone is that you do not require a pair of 3D glasses to view content on it. It all comes right out of the display at you. So how nice is that display? Believe me – it is surprisingly good. However, you do have to line your eyes up head on the display in order to love it. Also, the depth is more convincing than I had expected it to be. The phone has a 3D button on the side and when you hit it, a 3D menu carousel comes into view that rises up out of the surface.
The phones does not always work in 3D mode. When you are not using an app that uses 3D technology, it automatically reverts back to standard mode. The camera on its back shoots in 3D as well. This is important as there is not a lot of content in 3D. Fortunately, LG has recognized this fact and has equipped it with an 5 mega pixel auto focus 3D camera which shoots in full 1280 x 720 resolution. To show off that impressive footage, make sure you have a 3D TV at home. Now, let us talk about its performance. It is powered by a dual core 1GHz OMAP 4 processor, 4GB RAM and 8GB storage to handle all that heavy-duty 3D content. However, the device sometimes just freezes which shows that it is not quite ready as a finished phone.
