Watch: Unseen footage of young Donald Tusk singing Polish Christmas carols on stage

President shared the hilarious video on his Twitter page on Thursday to wish his fellow citizens and all Europeans “good changes” for the future. The Christmas wishes video begins with a clip of a young Tusk in 1996 singing Polish Christmas carols. The video then cuts to Donald Tusk today, attempting to sing the same song only to stop to promise he will not sing anymore but calls on listeners to “hear each other on this quiet night”.

He says: “OK, I won’t sing anymore, I promise.

“But I would like to wish my fellow citizens and all Europeans that in the quiet of this night we can hear each other.

“Our voices of love and hope.

“Hope for a better future, for only good changes.

The former Polish Prime Minister’s ironic video comes only two days after he took a swipe at Brexiteers as he used Brexit as an example to urge politicians to consider what the consequences of their actions would be.

Speaking in Dortmund, Germany, Mr Tusk said he wanted to remind leaders it was the centenary of the end of the First World War, when “sleepwalkers in power” with “hopelessly weak imaginations” led Europe to “catastrophe”.

The European Council President said he wanted to dedicate the words of sociologist Max Weber to the “authors of Brexit”.

Mr Tusk said: “On the centenary of the end of the First World War, it is worth reminding ourselves of the story of its beginning, with all those sleepwalkers in power, who – having the best intentions and a hopelessly weak imagination –  led Europe to catastrophe.

“Max Weber wrote about the ethics of responsibility.

“Today, I would like to dedicate his words to some of the contemporary leaders on both sides of the Atlantic, and in particular to the authors of Brexit.”
