NBA news: LeBron James, Kevin Durant swap deal, secret Anthony Davis trade meeting

LeBron James

Los Angeles Lakers have been offered up a suggestion to beat local rivals LA Clippers to the signing of Kevin Durant – but it would come at a huge cost.

Durant is out of contract at the end of the season but his recent jibes at LeBron James suggest he is not interested in a move to the Lakers.

So Fred Robledo, sports editor for the Southern California Newspaper Group, has offered a stunning alternative to land the small forward.

“If the Lakers can’t trade for Anthony Davis and LeBron James keeps persisting they do I’ve got a solution,” Robledo wrote on Twitter.

“Trade LeBron James for Kevin Durant.

“If GState thinks Durant is walking at the end of the season, wouldn’t they take James who’s locked in for a few more years?

“A trade for a younger Durant would still leave the Lakers in a situation to add another star in free agency?

“Would Kawhi rather come to the Lakers if Durant was there instead of James?”

Anthony Davis

LeBron James reportedly held a secret meeting with Anthony Davis and agent Rich Paul tonight.

James this week admitted it would be “incredible” if the Pelicans star would join him at the Staples Centre and now he is using their joint agent Rich Paul to negotiate a deal.

“I am pretty sure that LeBron, Rich and Anthony Davis are going to have dinner tonight,” Skip Bayless told the Undisputed.

“That is what I would do if I was LeBron. And I am going to have that dinner at my estate in Brentwood. Over dinner I am to tell Anthony that the time is now, not later.”

Kevin Durant

Kevin Durant has warned team-mate Draymond Green that he must start taking more shots during matches.

Golden State Warriors fell to a 108-103 defeat to Utah Jazz last night which leaves them third in the Western Conference and Durant was unhappy with certain moments in the match.

“I mean we just want him to shoot,” Durant said of Draymond.

“Obviously we love him but we just want him to be aggressive to shoot and look for a shot a little bit more.”
