
Pictures show the bodies of two “terrorists” after a bloody shootout in the snow in Stavropol region. The IS suspects were “neutralised” after firing at Federal Security Service (FSB) officers. Possessions including a firearm allegedly belonging to the suspects were shown in pictures released by the counterintelligence agency.
The FSB did not say how many members of the alleged cell were eliminated.
“The gunmen offered armed resistance to the Russian Federal Security Service special forces unit,” said an FSB statement.
“Members of the Islamic State international terrorist organisation were neutralised by return fire.”
There were no FSB casualties in the gun battle, said the agency.
