Arsenal Suarez latest

Arsenal boss Unai Emery would prefer to strengthen his defence and attack than sign Barcelona ace Denis Suarez, it has been claimed.

Football London say Arsenal are unlikely to secure the signature of the Spaniard.

And that is because Emery would rather strengthen other areas of his squad.

It is said Arsenal could dip into the market once the transfer window reopens.

Mourinho wanted Shaqiri

Jose Mourinho was keen on signing Xherdan Shaqiri in the summer, before he moved to Liverpool.

The Manchester Evening News say Mourinho was keen to sign the Switzerland international back in the summer.

Shaqiri signed for Liverpool from Stoke in a bargain £12million transfer deal.

But Mourinho, it is claimed, had gushed over the player to close confidants prior to his move.

Pogba exit ‘no big deal’

Paul Pogba could leave Manchester United in January, and it would be ‘no big deal’ according to Roy Keane.

Pogba was an unused substitute against Liverpool on Sunday and Keane thinks he’s finished at Old Trafford.

“If he’s sitting on the bench today and not getting on then you’re thinking his days must be numbered,” Keane said on Sky Sports.

“I don’t think they’ll do anything with Pogba in January but come the summer you move him on and it’s no big deal, he’s left Manchester United before.”

Unai Emery talks January deals

Unai Emery is hoping to sign a defender and a winger next month after losing Rob Holding and Danny Welbeck for the season.

But he admits it will be difficult to bring people in during the January window.

“We don’t have a lot of possibilities in January,” said Arsenal boss Emery.

“It’s not easy. January is not good for transfers, but we are going to look. We are giving young players chances but we need a high level in the squad.”
