The 60-year-old Strictly Come Dancing 2017 finalist found a close friend in Giovanni Pernice, 28, when they were paired together on the show. Debbie McGee was quizzed about any “jealous” feelings following reports he has struck up a romance with Ashley Roberts, 37. Asked if she was jealous during an appearance on Loose Women, she simply laughed: “No. Definitely not.”
“We’re still friends and we were messaging through the live show,” she explained. “He’s just a great mate.
“Probably that’s why I’m not jealous,” Debbie continued. “Because I wasn’t romantic with him.
“We’ve just got this amazing friendship.
The Strictly favourite also opened up about getting her confidence back thanks to her stint on the BBC show last year, which came over a year after her husband, magician Paul Daniels, died of a brain tumour.

Debbie’s comments come after reports emerged claiming Ashley and Giovanni were “snogging” at the Strictly wrap party over the weekend.
“They felt they had to keep things quiet during the show but threw caution to the wind at the party,” a source told The Sun.
“They couldn’t keep their hands off each other — full on snogging and touching in front of everyone.”

Both the former Pussycat Dolls star and the Italian-born dancer have previously insisted they are currently single and not romantically involved.
“We’re just good friends, nothing more,” Giovanni told Fabulous Magazine. “She’s an amazing dancer and person. but we’re not dating.
“I’m single and ready to mingle,” he added.
Meanwhile, Ashley also denied rumours she was dating the Strictly hunk, saying on This Morning: “We’re just friends and I’m single. He’s a lovely guys, but we are not dating.”
She did, however, confirm the pair of them had been out for drinks together.
Ashley made the Strictly final on Saturday with her professional partner Pasha Kovalev, 38, despite being in the dance off for the three weeks running.
Giovanni also competed in the final with his celebrity partner Faye Tozer, 43, but both were pipped to the post by champions Stacey Dooley, 31, and Kevin Clifton, 35.
