Strictly Come Dancing: Stacey Dooley ‘struggled’ with Kevin says body language expert

Stacey Dooley, 31, and Kevin Clifton, 36, are the winners of Strictly Come Dancing 2018. The pair performed their show dance alongside two other dances on the show, competing against Joe Sugg, Ashely Roberts and Faye Tozer. Their budding friendship has been captured onscreen with the pair thought to have become close over the course of the series. Body language expert Judi James told Express.co.uk what their body language revealed about their relationship in tonight’s show after winning the Glitterball trophy.

“She might have received the lowest scores from the judges, who all stood looking slightly poker-face as she was announced the winner, but Stacey proved why she was the peoples’ vote tonight with a truly genuine display of modest and down-to-earth body language,” said Judi.

Many of the judges looked rather serious after the vote was announced, perhaps due to Stacey being six points behind the top of the board, Ashley and Faye.

“Her dances weren’t perfect apart from the stunning Paso when every single fibre of her body was totally and stunningly in role,” Judie said.

“Unpretentiously though she leapt out of role before the last note of the song was over, bending double and laughing in complete contrast to her feisty, elegant Paso characterisation.”

However, the win appeared to come as a shock to both Stacey and Kevin who took the Glitterball Trophy.

“It was clear from her body language signals that she didn’t expect to win and we saw her arm reach out to pat Joe just prior to the announcement to signal she expected him to be the winner,” Judi said.

“Her screams of shock sounded genuine when her name was called but she quickly and generously turned it into Kevin’s win, stepping back as he did the best tears of the night before being carried shoulder high by the other pro dancers.”

Kevin’s emotional win saw many of the other dancers congratulate him, as well as his ex-wife Karen Clifton.

Judi continued: “While Ashley was getting straight tens all night Stacey was struggling with a chair hooked into her costume and Bruno accidentally referring to her ‘T*ts’ but her hard work and personality won the night in the end.”
