Could Real Madrid star Gareth Bale and Lionel Messi join Cristiano Ronaldo in Serie A?

The Portuguese is widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time.

He’s bagged an astonishing 584 goals 782 professional appearances.

But the 33-year-old shocked world football when he opted to quit Real Madrid for Juventus in the summer.

Earlier this week, he urged Messi to leave La Liga for Serie A too.

“Messi? Maybe it’s him who misses me,” Ronaldo told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I’ve played in England, Spain, Italy, Portugal and for my national team, while he’s still in Spain.

“Maybe he needs me more?

“For me, life is a challenge, I like it and I like to make people happy.

“I’d like him to come to Italy one day.

“I hope he accepts the challenge like me, but if he’s happy there then I respect that.

“He’s a fantastic player and a good guy, but I don’t miss anything here.

“This is my new life and I’m happy.”

Atalanta cheekily suggested they want Messi to help fill their newly-built stadium.

Club president Antonio Percassi joked that he fancies signing the Barcelona superstar following Ronaldo’s suggestion that Messi should move to Italy.

“He is the player that I’d like to present to our fans in our new stadium,” Percassi told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Unfortunately, that’s impossible.”

Bale, meanwhile, has had a topsy turvy Real career.

He’s had a host of niggling injuries and struggled to enamour himself to the Bernabeu faithful.

Bale’s agent – Jonathan Barnett – told Tuttosport last month that a reunion with Ronaldo is a possibility.

“Gareth is very happy at Real Madrid,” he said.

“But if we’re talking about the future then nothing is impossible in the transfer market.

“Ronaldo was an important loss for Real Madrid.

“Gareth loved playing with Cristiano, but he’s happy because he’s at a top club.

“It’s true that since CR7 arrived the foreign superstars are starting to consider Serie A and start looking at it in a different way compared to the last years.”
