Cheryl is best known for appearing on Popstars: The Rivals and later X Factor. However, the star, from Newcastle, had appeared on television before. At the age of seven she appeared on TV advert for British Gas and danced on programme Gimmie 5 in 1993. However, it was when she auditioned for Popstars: The Rivals in 2002 that Cheryl gained UK wide renown.
Cheryl had her fist number one with the band, scoring Christmas number one in 2002 with Sound of the Underground.
After making £30 million during their highly successful career, the group split in 2009.
The singer had already taken a spot as a judge of the X Factor, alongside longtime mentor and friend Simon Cowell.
In April 2009 she released her first album “3 Words”.
Cheryl has released four solo albums in total, with Messy Little Raindrops (2010), A Million Lights (2012) and Only Human (2014).

In her long career Cheryl has won a whole host of accolades, inducing numerous “sexiest women” awards.
In 2009 she won FHM 100 Sexiest Women in the World award and Virgin Media Awards Hottest Female. She went on to win FHM 100 Sexiest Women in the World 2010 too.

Cheryl gave birth to her son Bear on 22 March 2017, who she shares with One Direction singer Liam Payne.
