Melania Trump OPENS UP on how 12-year-old son Barron is JUST LIKE his dad Donald Trump

Mrs Trump was speaking to Sean Hannity on Fox News when she made the disclosure. The pair were talking aboard the USS H.W George Bush, where the First Lady was greeting service personnel. It was the second half of a highly usual interview, as the First Lady rarely gives official media appearances.

Asked about her son, Barron, Mrs Trump said: “I want to give him as normal a life as possible.

“This is not a normal life but I like to protect him and give him the childhood that he deserves.”

She added: “He is very happy, he is strong, he is tough, he is enjoying life in Washington.”

Mr Hannity questioned Mrs Trump on whom Barron shared more traits with, asking if he was the “outward fighter, Donald, or like his mum”.

The First Lady replied: “He has both qualities.

“He is a fighter.

“He has a soft beautiful heart but he is a fighter, too, he is very strong.”

During “part one” of the Hannity interview, the First Lady attacked the media for attempting to write history, saying it was “not correct”.

She said: “The problem is they’re writing history and it’s not correct.

“They like to focus on the gossip and I just wish they could focus on the substance of what we do and not nonsense.”

The insightful discussion came as Mrs Trump’s approval rating plummeted 11 points in a CNN poll released this week.

The First Lady suffered a double-digit blow to her popularity, according to the broadcaster.

The number of respondents who said they hold a favourable view of the First Lady dropped 11 points relative to the same period in October, when 54 percent of those polled said they viewed her favourably.

Her approval rating hit an all-time high last May, shortly after she hosted her first state dinner, when it reached 57 percent in a CNN poll.
