Black Ops 4 Christmas event update: Call of Duty seasonal event comes to PS4 TODAY

Black Ops 4 is getting a brand new seasonal event later today.

The Black Ops 4 Christmas event will give players the chance to unlock new seasonal items.

That’s according to a recent Activision blog, which hinted at what to expect from the new Black Ops 4 content.

“Watch for more Featured MP playlists throughout the rest of the year, as well as our new Holiday Event starting Dec. 13 on PS4 with new seasonal items to unlock,” reads an Activision post.

The seasonal event will include a number of festive changes to the Blackout map. Players can even throw snowballs.

“On top of the free content kicking off next week, there’s even more coming to Blackout soon with the addition of Custom Games, Weapon Camos, Stash interface updates on consoles, holiday map decorations, throwable Snowballs, new seasonal Special Event Tiers, in-game promos, gameplay improvements, and more,” Activision continues.

And it looks like the festive theme will come to more than just Blackout, as Zombies gets its own Christmas event.

The Winter Calling event also starts on December 13, and appears to be limited to PS4.

Activision continues: “Next week’s launches of Daily Callings, Black Ops Authenticity Stamp, and Daily Tier Skip in Zombies are just the beginning, as we’re also kicking off our limited-time Winter Calling event in Zombies with new seasonal personalization rewards to unlock starting December 13 on PS4.”

It’s been a particularly busy week in Black Ops 4, following the release of a new operator, landmark and more.

It’s all part of Operation Absolute Zero, which is described as “a massive new series of content” for Black Ops 4.

It all started with a new character named Zero: “Zero can disrupt and distract her enemies using the powerful hacking tools at her disposal, bringing new counteractive measures to the table in Black Ops 4,” Treyarch explains.

“Players can unlock Zero by completing Tier 1 in the newly revamped Black Market and immediately start testing out her wonderful new toys.”

Then there’s the introduction of Hijacked to the Blackout map, which will be located in the northwest quadrant of the map.

Based on the classic Call of Duty map, Hijacked adds a luxury yacht to the game.
