Amazon takes on Nintendo and PlayStation with a surprise gaming launch

The trend for retro gaming continues to grow with Sony following Nintendo’s SNES Mini with the launch of its own PlayStation Classic.

These devices allow fans to play a swathe of classic titles including Tekken 3 and Super Mario but they now have a much cheaper rival.

Amazon has just announced the launch of SEGA Classics which brings 25 of the most popular SEGA Mega Drive games directly to its Fire TV streaming devices.

The bargain £11.99 bundle includes titles such as Sonic the Hedgehog, Golden Axe, and Streets of Rage with all of these games playable without the need for an actual console or controller.

In fact, to play these games you simply need your Fire TV device and a remote.

For an improved experience, you can add a compatible Bluetooth controller with games even available on the budget Fire TV Stick.
