In other Fortnite news, this week saw the launch of update 7.01 which brought with it the new Infinity Blade weapon.

The Infinity Blade can be found at Polar Peak and grants users special bonuses.

The sword slash delivers big damage to players and even lets wielders leap great distances.

The wielder of the sword also receives increased health and shields, as well as health regeneration.

It’s the first Mythic weapon to arrive in Fortnite, but a number of players have been left feeling it’s overpowered.

One fan tweeted: “I think the new infinity blade should be in its own mode just like thanos mode because 400 hp with 50 hp generation instantly after an elim is a bit too much for players who are fighting the infinity blade specially with that mobility.”

While another wrote: “Fortnite’s infinity blade is extremely broken, it’s so freaking insane!”

While in a Reddit megathread about the Infinity Blade, one Fortnite fans wrote: “As most said, throw it in a LTM. The winter royale tournament today was the perfect example of why this item shouldn’t be in the game.

“A player in a lobby full of top tier players shouldn’t be able to get 12 kills within 2 minutes of a battle royale game. No game dev can defend this weapon, it doesn’t fit in the normal game mode.

“At the very least this item needs to be vaulted from competitive play, it’s ruining the integrity of the cup and it’s a shame a lot of first time players who worked hard to qualify for this tournament were forced to play versus such a weapon.”
