WWE legend Jeff Jarrett plants SWORD into pitch ahead of Titans vs Jaguars game

Jarrett was given the role of the honouree 12th Titan and planted the ceremonial sword into the midfield at the Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee.

This Week 14 AFC South rivalry match is important for the Titans, who are 6-6, as they are still in the hunt for a playoff place.

Peter Schrager, a co-host on Good Morning Football, believes the use of WWE Hall of Famer Jeff Jarrett is apt given the type of game he expects to take place between the two teams.

“I think that sets the tone,” Schrager said regarding Jarrett’s involvement.

“This is going to be a wrestling match.

“This is not going to be a 35-30 game.

“This is going to be in that 16-10, 16-13 range.

“And I think the Tennessee Titans in a wrestling match, find a way to get a win and keep their season alive.

“I do think that when it comes down to it Marcus Mariota will find a way to make that one big play – as he did last week against the Jets in another wrestling match.

“But this one is going to be turnbuckles and the whole deal

“It’s not going to be pretty, this ain’t going be 54-51,its going to be 16-13,

“I’m going with the Titans.”

Titans coach Mike Vrabel feels establishing the threat of the deep pass is important for the team as the post-season approaches.

“We have to do more of that, just to keep teams from sitting on you and bodying up at the top of the route,” Vrabel said.

“It was good to see Taywan [Taylor] be able to stretch the defence and go make a play, to be able to hit two of those to change field position and momentum.

“Certainly, we would like to have as many of those every week as we could.”
