NBA news: Warriors ace Steph Curry gets MVP pick by pundit for THIS reason

That is the view of former star-turned-pundit Paul Pierce.

Curry – who sat out 11 games with a groin injury – has returned in impressive style and inspired the Warriors to a 129-105 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The two-time MVP weighed in with 42 and he top scored for the reigning NBA champions.

And Pierce thinks Curry would be a worthy contender for the MVP award.

“This is why I think he’s MVP,” Pierce said on After the Buzzer.

“Not only is his play great, but his attitude is infectious.

“He has fun out there, you can see it in the way the Warriors play.

“Previously, the Warriors depended on Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson a lot.”

Pierce’s fellow pundit Chauncey Billups thinks Curry makes Warriors a stronger outfit.

“He demands so much attention on the floor,” Billups said.

“When he’s playing, they are able to just get set.

“He’s able to do a good job of keeping his head up while penetrating.

“His patience is exceptional.

“He can just get his feet set and he makes the whole team better.”
