NBA news: Anthony Davis trade clue, Lakers SHOCK offer, LeBron James on Kevin Durant

Anthony Davis

Boston Celtics lead Los Angeles Lakes in the hunt for Anthony Davis, according to NBA expert Marc Stein.

Davis can buy himself out of his New Orleans Pelicans contract at the end of the season.

The Lakers and Celtics have been keeping tabs on Davis for the last few months.

But Stein claims the Celtics could offer highly-rated youngster Jayson Tatum in a potential trade which would sway the odds of landing Davis in their favour.

“The Davis thing more likely than not doesn’t play out until July,” Stein told the Bill Simmons Podcast.

“The Pelicans make him the offer, and look, we’ve seen guys not take that super max, so maybe he says ‘I’m not taking it, I’m ready to move on’.

“If Davis is going to be traded, you’re going to have doc one up with an amazing offer to beat what Boston can put on the table.

“If you have to sacrifice Tatum to get Anthony Davis, I think you do that. With apologies to the Celtics nation. Tatum is great, but Anthony Davis is [sic].”

Lakers offer

Los Angeles Lakers have reportedly offered up three players as part of a deal to try and sign Washington Wizards’ John Wall.

According to Wizards’ website Bullets Forever, the Lakers are willing to bet big to bring Wall to southern California.

“Source No 1, a current NBA agent, surprised me by saying the story was true,” Bullets Forever reported.

“Source No 2 said the rumour is true. This source said Ball and Caldwell-Pope were definitely in the deal, but that there was still discussion whether the third player would be Ingram, Josh Hart, or Kyle Kuzma.”

LeBron James

LeBron James claims he did not hear Kevin Durant’s jibe calling his media circus “toxic.”

Durant was asked about the prospect of NBA All-Stars moving to Los Angeles Lakers next year but the Golden State Warriors man strongly suggested no other leading ace would want to play in James’ shadow.

However, the Lakers small forward claimed to have slept through the day so he completely missed the commotion.

“No I haven’t heard from [Durant],” James said. “I have been sleeping all day.”
