Michelle Obama’s FURY at Barack over ‘flirtatious’ selfie with Danish PM revealed

Michelle Obama recently released her memoir, Becoming, which included anecdotes about meetings with Her Majesty the Queen. She also spoke on Wednesday in London about how she has maintained a successful marriage with Barack Obama for 26 years. However she was “seething” with Barack, according to one US author, back in 2013.

It stems from the famous selfie of then-President Obama, David Cameron and the Danish PM at Nelson Mandela’s memorial service.

It was with Denmark’s first female Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt, who is married to Stephen Kinnock, son of ex-Labour leader, Neil Kinnock.

Comments quickly flooded the internet, not least because Michelle was left out of the picture.

Author M S King interprets the picture as Obama’s “juvenile flirtation with the attractive blonde Prime Minister of Denmark”.

According to King, in his 2014 book “The War on Putin”, “Michelle seethed at the leggy Danish Diva”.

He claims it was the “final straw” in a marriage “known to be on the rocks”.

It is an extraordinary claim that comes after the US writer’s assertion that Russia’s President Putin is estranged from his wife, due to his “single-minded dedication to restoring Mother Russia”.

Vladimir Putin split from his wife Lyudmila in 2014 after 31 years of marriage.

Lyudmila Putina maintained a low profile as Russia’s First Lady, and no family portrait was ever issued.

For her part, Ms Thorning-Schmidt spoke in 2016 about the famous selfie.

“When we came to the stage there was no seating,” she told Fortune magazine’s Most Powerful Women International Summit in London.

She found a vacant seat, not knowing that Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle would soon take the spots to her left.

When she saw the President a little while later, she claims: “He told me ‘you got me into trouble.’”

“It wasn’t with Michelle,” she insisted.
