Super Smash Bros Ultimate REVIEW: Great news for Nintendo Switch fans

Super Smash Bros Ultimate pre-order customers have been treated to some good news ahead of the launch.

With the Super Smash Bros Ultimate release date creeping up fast, Nintendo has announced when the first reviews will go live.

It’s great news for the impatient and undecided, because the Super Smash Bros Ultimate review embargo lifts on December 6.

According to the countdown clock, the reviews will go live at 1pm GMT in the UK.

Super Smash Bros Ultimate launches one day later on December 7.

Pre-order customers and early adopters will even get a special bonus fighter in the form of Piranha Plant.

The upcoming Nintendo Switch release already boasts over 70 fighters, including every character from Smash history.

This includes the original lineup of Mario, Captain Falcon, Donkey Kong, Luigi, Fox, Yoshi, Samus, Pikachu, Ness, Kirby, Link and Jigglypuff.

Then there are guest characters like Snake, Sonic, Cloud, Bayonetta, Ryu and Mega Man.

New fighters, meanwhile, include Ryu, Ridley, Richter, King K. Rool and Daisy.

Elsewhere, Super Smash Bros Ultimate contains a brand new story mode and spirit characters.

Featuring a whole host of characters from a wide selection of games, spirits are divided into primary and support classes.

Unlocked in the World of Light story mode, these spirits can be used to boost stats and provide buffs.

The story mode is also where you’ll unlock the bulk of the game’s characters.
