
The dramatic footage taken from a CCTV camera shows the moment the plane explodes into a fireball after it crashed into a children’s therapy centre. The centre in Fort Lauderdale, Positive Behaviour Supports, is for youngsters with autism. Local media, The Sun-Sentinel, has reported the impact from the crash left two people dead.
The accident happened just north of the Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport.
Fire and Rescue in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, responded to a plane crash Saturday afternoon.
According to Fort Lauderdale firefighters, the blaze is now out and contained.
They tweeted: “FLFR units on scene of a plane into a building at 1101 NW 62 St.

An eyewitness told local media: “It just came in over the treetops trying to get its wings straight then I was just waiting to hear the bang.”
The Florida man was out fishing when he says he saw the plane flying way too low and struggling to get control.
He said that’s when he knew it was doomed.
Video images show terrified people fleeing the burning building, many of them holding small children as they escape the fire.
A more recent tweet from the Fort Lauderdale firefighters said: “B-shift crews did an outstanding job today on a small aeroplane that crashed into an occupied building.
“Crews were on the scene within five minutes of receiving the call and were able to quickly extinguish the fire.”
Both the pilot and one passenger in the Cessna 335 aircraft were killed, according to local press.
Eight teachers and five children were in the building when the plane crashed, battalion chief Steven Gollan from the Fort Lauderdale Fire-Rescue Department, told CBS News.
Positive Behaviour Supports regional director, Claudia Axelrod, told CBS Miami the front door of the autism centre “was on fire and was blocked by the debris”.
She said: “The roof caved in on them.”
But the dramatic footage shows how teachers protected the children.
The Federal Aviation Administration said the small plane was taking off from the Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport was originally heading to Hilliard, which is a town outside of Jacksonville.
It crashed at roughly 1.30pm local time on Saturday.
