The Ballon d’Or is expected to be contested between the big guns of European football again this year.
Luka Modric, Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe are all up for the top gong in world football.
Ronaldo and Messi have already won the award five times apiece.
There are plenty of Premier League stars on the 30-man shortlist for the award this year.
But it appears as though the award is to go to a La Liga player yet again.
That is the claim from some Twitter users, who suggest an image of the eventual winner has been leaked online.
According to the image, Real Madrid star Modric has won the 2018 Ballon d’Or with 753 points awarded to him in the vote.
Cristiano Ronaldo is second with 476 points, ahead of Antoine Griezmann (414 points).
Messi is beaten by Kylian Mbappe for fourth place, while Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah is the highest-ranked Premier League player in sixth.
Salah has beaten domestic rivals Eden Hazard (eight) and Kevin De Bruyne (ninth) to the award.
Harry Kane (10th) and N’Golo Kante (11th) are nominated ahead of Manchester United and France star Paul Pogba (15th).
Pogba was the world’s most expensive player just two years ago but his performances for United over the past 24 months have left a lot to be desired.
He showcased his talents at the World Cup – helping France win the tournament in Russia – yet is only halfway down the exclusive list collated by France Football, who run the Ballon d’Or award.
