Tyson Fury confirms Anthony Joshua fight ahead of Deontay Wilder showdown

Fury faces Wilder in the early hours of Sunday morning at the Staples Centre in LA.

The 30-year-old is hoping to snatch Wilder’s WBC heavyweight world title across the pond.

Should Fury beat the undefeated Wilder, there’s a rematch clause in the contract that could force an immediate second clash.

However, the Gypsy King reckons he’ll beat Wilder – and the American will opt to face Joshua next.

Fury told Oddschecker: “I don’t think Wilder will take the rematch.

“He won’t take the rematch clause.

I’m going to give him that bad of a boxing lesson and beat him up that badly he won’t want that rematch clause.

“He’ll fight Joshua, I think. Even with his loss. He doesn’t have anywhere to go.”

Joshua has been vocal on Wilder vs Fury, with the Brit claiming his counterpart will suffer the first defeat of his career.

“I’m saying Wilder,” Joshua told iFL TV. “When I thought [Wladimir] Klitschko he had 17 months off because Fury got injured and had to pull out of his fight.

“[Klitschko said it done him well because he was training in between and it revitalised his body.

“He had been doing it for so long and took himself out of the box, he trained and kept his body active, and then he had a fight with me.

“Due to the fact I was active while he was waiting for Fury, I managed to get the stoppage in the 11th round.

“That activeness plays a big part in boxing.

“Fury has had a long lay-off, done the opposite and now he is going to fight a Championship fighter.

“The proof is in the pudding. History only teaches us that it will repeat itself.

“Wilder will win and providing their is no rematch, there would be no reason for us not to fight.”
