Donald Trump was on his way to the G20 Summit in Buenos Aires when he cancelled his meeting with Vladimir Putin. White House press secretary issued a statement blaming the ”Russian Witch Hunt Hoax”. This is in reference to special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation.
Ms Sanders said: “The Russian Witch Hunt Hoax, which is hopefully now nearing an end, is doing very well.
“Unfortunately, it probably does undermine our relationship with Russia.“
She insisted the meeting with Mr Putin was cancelled due to Russia’s seizure of Ukrainian Navy ships and sailors earlier this week.
A spokesman for the Kremlin said earlier today Mr Trump and Mr Putin would have a “brief impromptu meeting” during the G20.

However, a White House official has denied this – saying no meeting had been rescheduled between the two leaders.
The official said that the Kremlin was “trying to save face” with their comment.

However, the Kremlin states the Russian president earns $133,000 (£104,202) a year and lives in a small apartment.
According to the Atlantic, American financier Bill Browder estimated that Mr Putin had “accumulated $200 billion of ill-gotten gains”.
Is Vladimir Putin richer than Donald Trump?
President of the United States Donald Trump is said to be worth $3.1 billion (£2.43 billion).
However, because Mr Putin’s net worth is unknown, whether he is wealthier than President Trump is also not known.
