The Waning Gibbous Moon is currently transiting through the sixth astrological sign of the zodiac in the constellation Virgo. Virgo is the zodiac of loyalty, kindness, shyness, practicality and also hard work. People born under this mutable earth sign are said to enjoy the outdoors and animals but have a tendency to be over-analytic and critical at times. The zodiac is ruled over by the planet Mercury and astrologers believe it is most compatible with the signs of Pisces and Cancer.
The Moon in Virgo is paired with the Sun in Sagittarius today and the two bodies form a square aspect.
In astrology, a square aspect is formed between two celestial bodies when they are 90-degrees apart on the horoscope charts.
In other words, Virgo and Sagittarius are three signs, 30-degrees each, apart from another today.
According to astrologer Debra Silverman of Astrology Answers, the Sun in this combination represents the ego and outgoing personality.

The Moon, on the other hand, represents your emotional temperament and “inside emotional realm”.
She said: “So these two require harmony for a personality to be able to work effortlessly because ego – their male side – and the Moon – their female side – want to be in tandem.
“Well, when there’s a square between them that suggests that there is some conflict, that there’s a challenge – it’s not easy.
“Why isn’t it easy? Because Sagittarius is very explosive and sloppy and funny and generous and they just love to have a party.”
People under the influence of Sagittarius will go out and enjoy themselves and “throw their energies around”.
But the Moon in Virgo represents the other end of the spectrum – it is quiet, reserved and wants to keep everything in an orderly fashion.
The two astrological influences working on you at the same time can be quite conflicting and confusing.
Ms Silverman said: “Imagine the conflict that could occur on the psychological level.”
The astrologer added there is a lot of mutable energy in the air tonight for you to “rewrite your narrative”.
Alongside the Moon and the Sun, Mars and Neptune are in Pisces and Jupiter and Mercury are in Sagittarius.
Ms Silverman said: “That’s the gift of mutability. The Sagittarius is philosophical enough, the Virgo is analytical and the Pisces is saying: ‘You know what? I need some help.’
“That’s how you rewrite your story.”
